I thoroughly enjoyed researching Tomas. They are very well presented in photos and i am sure the installations are far more impressive in person. The public interaction are of his work was something i found to be the most interesting area. I think  even if it were not interactive it would work well because it looks impressive due to its scale and use of reflections. But allowing visitors to walk with an on the installation is something that really speaks to the children in people. The sense of weightlessness in both pieces is something that is hard to achieve, but works increasingly well when it works. The location was very well thought out. He found an open brightly lit location for almost all of his works. I think the natural light works especially well because it reflects off the balls of IN ORBIT and the plastic for ON SPACE FOAM. i feel that this adds another layer of depth to something that is already distorting it. Also for the viewers that dont participate, the view from below is also very interesting and magical.

Sara has created these pieces by moving the image while scanning. It creates this distorted image, which makes the colour. It is a really simple analogue method of distorting and essentially glitching the image. I have looked at this type of distortion because i want to use analogue methods to distort, and create glitch effects which are seen on digital corrupted images and files. She has used black and white images which seem to be older photos. I think she was trying to present the contrast of older technologies and photography to more modern processes and styles. If this was her intention i think it was well pulled off, and if not i still think it is a successful set of images. I think that there are uses for scanning in my work and would like to test but i would like to stray away from digital distortion such as this, as i would like to keep it as analogue as possible.

Some nice examples of layering and distorted images. I especially like the technique he used For the image below. I like the grainy shadowed image. I also like the image above because of the use of colour. I want to create something that uses an inverted layer with my letter types for print week. I think the process will work really well and wound work well with type. Even though he isnt a well know designer i think his work is quite effective as posters and prints. 

Giorgio Sadotti Has been a huge influence later on in the project. His use of type to mix and create a combination of letters is really interesting. The rules he uses to create these are what i would like to test and use to create my own. I would like to test with layering different letters to create something that isn't anything but is also everything. Its not something that would be use practically but something more visual based. Something that looks interesting and push what we perceive as image and type. I love his work and how he create a variety of different things using the same elements in different ways. Where he uses mostly grey scale, i want to test with filtering and color to see if i could make it relate better to my glitch and distortion topic.
